Software Engineer (Sydney)
We are currently looking for an experienced Software Engineer who has proven experience working with a wide software development environments. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be involved in and contribute to a range of innovative and cutting edge projects.
Your day to day responsibilities will include, designing, developing, coding, testing and debugging software as well as documenting software design and architecture. The successful candidate must be able to work towards project timeframes and deadlines.
Undertake software system design and development activities and software unit integration testing.
Develop source code documentation and detailed instructions for the application's installation, configuration and calibration.
Manage the development and release of new versions via the source code control systems.
Use collaborative tools to develop requirements, track progress and manage the verification, validation process.
Contribute to the development of internal processes and procedures that are part of the organisation's quality system.
Present findings and technical developments at regular technical reviews.
Providing technical assistance and mentoring to team members.
Reviewing of other team members work to ensure accuracy and compliance with completion criteria.
Provide system design, costing and schedule advice in support of proposal generation.
Qualifications and experience required:
Degree qualified in Electrical/ Electronics/ Software Engineering or similar discipline
5 years + writing high-quality code across a variety of systems and development environments
Experience from within a highly regulated industry (eg defence/aerospace)
Knowledge of SDLC
Experience with development IDE's (eg Visual Studio)
Programming experience in Python, Java, C#, C, C++, .NET, Rhapsody
Experience with standard software engineering tools including build systems, revision control, bug tracking, test frameworks
Experience in the use of version control systems (eg SVN, GIT)
Ability to pick up and maintain legacy or previously written code
Strong attention to detail and development of high quality and robust software/ firmware
Ability to collaborate and communicate technical concepts
Experience in implementation of software configuration management systems
Experience in the development and design of safety-critical software
Strong experience with ARM-based processor architectures
Development experience with RTOS
Experience with database management and related interface applications - both SQL and NoSQL
Knowledge of cloud-based technologies such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
You MUST be able to obtain NV1 Level security clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
